Contest Marketing

Which contest entries can AIPromote support?

We screen a contest before suggesting promotion. If the rules or the requested tactics leave no honest route forward, we explain the reason and what would need to change.

In shortAIPromote reviews contest rules, participants and requested tactics before accepting promotion work. We decline projects that prohibit outside promotion, political campaigns, lotteries or gambling, entries involving minors without parental consent, and requests for automated or purchased votes. You get a written explanation at the initial review, before campaign work begins.

Which contest situations fall outside our work?

We take on contest promotion only when the entry can be promoted in line with platform rules and contest rules. Our screening covers five boundaries:

  • Outside promotion is prohibited: if the organizer bars entrants from promoting their entries, we will not plan ads or outreach around that restriction.
  • Political campaigns: contests tied to a political campaign are not a fit for our service.
  • Lotteries and gambling: we decline lottery and gambling promotions, including projects where participation depends on a chance-based draw or gambling activity.
  • A minor is involved without parental consent: a parent or guardian must agree to the entry and its promotion.
  • Automated or purchased votes are requested: we do not sell votes, followers or engagement, and we do not use bots, scripts, fake accounts or click farms.

This boundary is about whether the proposed work can be openly explained to the organizer and supporters. For projects that meet these conditions, our contest marketing overview sets out the promotion formats we do offer, including creative and copy and creator outreach.

What should you check before asking for promotion?

Start with the organizer’s written rules, not with what other entrants appear to be doing. A campaign can be built only around actions the contest permits, so collect the material that shows what entrants may share and where.

Put these details together

  • The contest page and full rules, including any updates.
  • Your entry link, the contest deadline and the platforms you hope to use.
  • Any wording about soliciting votes, paid ads, sharing, or promotion by people outside the organizer’s channels.
  • For an entry featuring a minor, confirmation that a parent or guardian agrees to the entry and planned promotion.
  • A clear description of the support you want, so we can identify whether it involves an approach we do not provide.

When wording is unclear, we can help you prepare a focused question for the organizer rather than assume permission. If the organizer confirms that a specific kind of sharing is allowed, that answer can inform the next review. Our rules and risk consulting is useful when the entry has several rules or a more involved voting process; for youth-related projects, see beauty, kids, pets and school contests.

How does our screening keep the promotion credible?

Our first job is to understand what the public source says before discussing how to widen its reach. In the AI Presence Scan, AIPromote reviews the contest page, entry information and rules together, then records the decision and any open question in plain language. That keeps campaign planning anchored to details supporters can verify, rather than claims that the organizer has not approved.

If the project is eligible, we can discuss a suitable route through paid contest-entry promotion, community and consent-based outreach, or another relevant format. If it is not eligible, the review identifies the specific issue and whether a written rule clarification or documented parental consent would change the picture. We do not suggest a workaround that contradicts the contest’s stated conditions.

The organizer sets the rules and decides how entries and votes are assessed; platform ad reviews and delivery are also outside our control. We do not promise a win, vote count, ranking or outcome, only the agreed work and clear reporting on that work.

Frequently asked questions

What information should I send for the first review?

Send the contest page, full rules, your entry link, deadline and the promotion channels you are considering. If the entry involves a minor, include confirmation that a parent or guardian agrees to the entry and its promotion.

Can you help if the rules ban ads but allow sharing?

Possibly. The exact wording matters: we check what the organizer permits and shape any proposed outreach around that permission. If the distinction is unclear, we can help you ask the organizer for a written answer before planning.

Will parental consent make a contest featuring a minor eligible?

Consent is necessary, but we also need the proposed promotion to fit the contest’s rules and the relevant platform’s age and privacy requirements. We will review those conditions before recommending any work.

Can you take a project that asks for purchased or automated votes?

No. We do not provide purchased votes or automated activity, and we do not use bots, scripts, fake accounts or click farms. We can consider a white-hat promotion plan only if the contest rules permit it.
